Royalty in Uniform


HRH Crown Prince Frederik of Denmark

Kings and princes throughout the centuries have led their soldiers into battle. Many among them have been brilliant generals and brave warriors. In fact our epics are all about kings and wars. But that was in the past. Today, with the advent of constitutional monarchies and democracies, military leadership is devolved to professionals. But in certain parts of the world, particularly Great Britain and Europe, a military career is still regarded as necessary for a prince or even an heir.
The present generation of royalty in most European kingdoms still reveres the uniform and many have opted for military careers. To them, it is a line of duty and matter of pride and honour to earn the privilege of wearing a uniform.  SALT presents these Royals to our readers.
